Enzie Shahmiri
Portrait and Fine Art Artist
Enzie was Born in Berlin, Germany in 1960 to a German mother and Iranian father, she was immediately whisked
off to live in Iran. Enzie says her cradle was kissed by the gentle winds of the East and the West.
After only three years, upon the untimely death of her father she found herself back in Germany.
Another set of events up rooted her yet again and blew her across the plains and desert back to Iran.
There she spent her informative years learning the ways of an ancient and complex society, taking in
it's beautiful landscapes, breathtaking architecture and colorful art.
The richness of the tapestry that surrounded her evoked the first desire to capture the people she
encountered. Yet this desire was short lived as the Iranian Revolution broke out in 1979 and forced
the budding artist to yet again resettle. Years of moving across the globe ensued, before this expatriate
married and finally settled down in Southern California with her family.
"Once the wind has whispered into your ear, you can't ignore it's calling." says the artist, who
continues to travel and captures images of people from around the globe in her work. Trained in Classical
Realism Enzie Shahmiri has created portraits for families and individuals for over ten years. Her work
reflects her passion for humanity and she is equally passionate about philanthropic endeavors and charitable
causes, to which she donates much of her work to improve the lives of others.
Enzie Shahmiri's paintings have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibits and are in private
collections in the USA, Europe and the Middle East. Her paintings range from traditional oil portraits
to Orientalist style figurative pieces using a Classical Old Master's technique.
Her work has been published on numerous occasions and has been featured in books. She is a member of
the distinguished Portrait Society of America and many other Fine Art Organizations (see below).
Enzie's Philosophy About Painting
“I use my intuition, my imagination and my skills to create portraits of people and animals.
By capturing a fleeting moment, I am thus able to pull the viewer into beautiful stories and create heirloom paintings that are cherished for generations to come. If you like to learn
