Each oil portrait I paint is an individual work of art meant to be an heirloom, museum quality portrait for your family to treasure. I work mainly from high resolution photographs that are submitted either by my clients or taken by me during a complimentary photo session. Photos are taken either at my studio, at your home or setting of your choice.

Vignettes ~

Vignettes are a great way to own an original oil portrait at the fraction of the price of a fully developed painting. Vignettes are best suited for head and shoulder renditions, where the focus is strictly on the face of the subject. Clothing is loose in style and the background is kept in a semi solid color.

Life Size Portraits ~

The price of a life size portrait depends on how much of the figure is painted. This type of portrait unlike a vignette includes a lot of detail work in the rendition of clothing, adornments, props and background. This type of painting usually takes several months to complete and is very labor intensive.

Please Note

Portrait fees depend on the type of portrait you choose. In other words on how much of the figure is depicted in the painting and on how much detail is involved in the overall composition. Therefore I highly recommend that you let me know approximately what your budget is. Once you submit a photo I can make several recommendations narrowing down the options most suitable within the desired budget. Please contact me via email to discuss your various pricing options.

The prices are based on a single subject. Tax, shipping and mandatory shipping insurance are not included in the portrait price. Additional individuals and/or the addition of pets in a figurative portrait are offered at a 25% discount. Portraits can be created from high resolution photos you submit or by scheduling a complimentary photo shoot.

Deposit

A payment of 25% of the commission price is required at the time the initial layout for the painting has been approved by you. This payment is non-refundable in order to compensate for the artists time and progression of the portrait. The remaining balance is billed in installments. After receipt of final payment the artwork will be shipped or delivered to the client.

*Complimentary photo shoots apply to customers who live within 1 hour driving time from the studio. Other travel arrangements can be made at the expense of the client.
